Abiding in Christ with Laura Hardin
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I chatted with Laura Hardin about abiding in Christ. We talked about everything from what it actually means to abide in Christ to how doing so impacts our lives every day. Listen to what she said, “When I abide in Christ, life is no longer about me, it’s about him, and he always orients me towards others. Through abiding in the Lord, I became enamored by God’s heart for service, that he is the humble servant King. And I want to be like him.”
So you’ll know her a little better, Laura encourages women to abide in Christ by committing themselves to the word of God, prayer, and fellowship. Through her writing, small group studies, and one-on-one discipleship, she challenges friends to follow Christ wholeheartedly. She resides in Maryland with her husband and two little babes.

NOTEWORTHY QUOTES
“When we abide in Christ, we are continuing to believe the truth of Gospel, doing whatever it takes to persevere in our faith. And God has given us means of grace to do that.”
“Do whatever it takes to remain in him and stay connected to continue in your faith.”
“His Spirit abides in us. That is a steady and faithful abiding. He will never let us go. We will never be separated.”
“Don’t think of abiding in Christ as just a quiet time. When we first believed in Christ, he made us new. When we abide, we are continuing to believe. Abiding is to remain in Christ. We are already there. We are just remembering that we are there.”“We can’t please God. We are broken. Apart from God we should be tossed away. But the incredible thing is God did not toss us away. Instead, in his love and mercy, Christ came and lived perfectly and died for our inability to live perfectly.”
“When I abide in Christ, life is no longer about me, it’s about him, and he always orients me towards others. Through abiding in the Lord, I became enamored by God’s heart for service, that he is the humble servant King. And I want to be like him.”
