In this week’s episode, we’re throwing it back to a conversation we shared years ago with Christine Gordon about how a Journeywoman seeks to know and love God more. Christine Gordon (aka Chris) is the co-founder of At His Feet Bible Studies and a visiting instructor at Covenant Theological Seminary, where she also attended and earned her Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Today we’re chatting with Margarita Diaz Lutz about the resurrection and the ascension of Christ. As you’ll hear, this conversation is rich with Scripture, and Margarita so beautifully reminds us of how the resurrection offers us hope even in the midst of the brokenness of this world. Today we get to hear from Yannick Christos-Wahab about why Jesus came to die. This episode was inspired by a conversation I personally shared with a friend who asked, “Why did it have to be Jesus? How can Jesus actually pay the debt I owe because of my sin?” This is such an important question for us to really know and understand, and Yannick is going to help answer it. So you’ll know a bit more about him, Yannick is from Nigeria, and was born and raised in London, where he is now a pastor at Stockwell Baptist Church. He is a husband and father, and he also co-authored a book called The Cross in Four Words published by The Good Book Company. We pray this episode encourages you to linger long on the cross of Christ!

Today we get to hear from Jonty Rhodes, who lives across the pond in the UK where he serves as the minister of Christ Church Central Leeds. Jonty has spent the last ten years planting churches in England and is the author of Covenants Made Simple and Man of Sorrows. In this episode we’re talking about Christ as prophet, priest, and king. I know you’ll walk away from this conversation with a better understanding of what Christ did for us and what he’s doing for us even now!

Today we have the joy of learning from Dr. David Filson on one of the most beautiful aspects of Old Testament literature - the covenants. Dr. Filson is a father and a pastor. He has been in pastoral ministry for over thirty years, and has served at his current church in Nashville for the last decade. We pray this conversation will truly help you see Jesus in all of Scripture and that it serves to remind you of God’s steadfast, unshakable covenantal love for his people.

Last week, we discussed creation and the rebellion of man, and today we’re digging deeper into the reality of our rebellion with Dr. Rebecca DeYoung. Rebecca DeYoung has extensively researched the topic of sin, and while sin and rebellion might not seem like the most encouraging topics, we hope you’ll see in this conversation that as we grow in awareness of our brokenness, we only grow in our recognition and awe of God’s grace to us despite our sin! Today we have the privilege of getting to know Dr. Hans Madueme, the associate professor of theological studies at Covenant College. As you’ll hear, Dr. Madueme was born in Sweden and grew up in Nigeria and Austria, and he does such a beautiful job of addressing the topic of creation and the rebellion of man. Today we have the joy of getting to hear from John Piper. John Piper is the founder and lead teacher of desiringGod.org and chancellor of Bethlehem College and Seminary. He is the author of more than 50 books, including Desiring God, Don’t Waste Your Life, and Providence, the brand new book that we are going to dive into today. If you know much about him, you know there’s nobody better than John Piper to speak on the topic of God’s Providence. Our hope is that this episode will offer you an opportunity to reflect upon and meditate on the providence of God.

Today we’re talking about the Trinity with Dr. Michael Allen. Dr. Allen serves as John Dyer Trimble Professor of Systematic Theology and Academic Dean of the Orlando campus of RTS.
